Image 2 idea

                                                      image 2-Prohibition

For this image, I am going to use the prohibition alcohol ban, illustrating a raid on an underground/basement illegal brewery. I think this is a good idea because it shows how strict they were on cracking down on illegal contraband during this prohibition.

For this image, I plan to digitally paint it using Photoshop, but before this can be done, initial sketches are key in it's development.

A quick drawing of my idea, i'm quite happy with certain areas of this sketch. However the closest  two characters need to be enlarged and the tables perspective altered.

The next stage will be to take this sketch into photoshop and improve certain areas before painting over the top.

A quick outline was drawn over the top, giving the characters and the room some atmosphere. This digital painting is still in it's very early stages and needs a hell of alot of work.

Now that I've blocked out the basic image, I am going to start adding some detail to the room.

This image had some drastic changes, I increased the size of the two criminals in front to balance the composition and also to give the impression that these two are in the shit.

I had an idea to put a Prohibition propaganda poster on the wall with a massive red cross in the centre of it. This represents that these people/criminals are against the prohibition.

I took a photo of my wall in the back yard and used it to texture the basement wall. I quite like this technique of blending digital and photo imagery together, I might do the same for the floor.

Started to add detail to the cops, i quite like they're postures, they look quite menacing!

Final image

This image has developed vast amounts since the first original sketch. I'm quite pleased with it and I believe that it addresses the crack down on illegal contraband during the prohibition fairly well.
