                                                        Image 4 - Jazz Age


For this image i'm going to base it around the Jazz age and use Louis Armstrong as my focal point.

           Some early ideas, trying to break down the image to get a feel for its composition and pattern.

First of all, i started off with this plain image of  Louis Armstrong (not painted). This will be the focal point and will be in full focus.

I then cutt out the bottom image and applied it behind Armstrong using the techniques learnt in class.

I used a cutout filter to give the background a stylish look, this also is quite blurred to show that all the focus is on Armstrong.

Applied a third image to the scene to complete the background and also to illustrate that Louis Armstrong and his band play at the famous Cotton Club.

I edited out the car leaving just the background of the building and the crowd of men.

                                                                       
                                                                               

Music notes were added to give the image more character. I managed to have the twirling music notes wrap around his band members, giving it a collarge look. 

Final image.

Yet a simple but effective image finished, I believe that this image has all the indications that explains it's period of the jazz age and who I focused it around.
